How do I thin out/soften the product?
Can I freeze my finished cake, cookies, pastries, etc.?
What is the difference between Almond Filling and Almond Paste? Can they be used interchangeably?
Can I substitute “x” in this recipe?
Most recipes allow for the replacement of one or two ingredients. If you are making a recipe for the first time, we recommend that you avoid replacing more than one ingredient. The following substitutions are common:
1 cup Apple Sauce for 1 cup Sugar
1 Banana for 1 cup Oil/Butter
¼ cup applesauce & ½ tsp Baking Powder OR ¼ cup of banana for 1 egg
1 Cup of Whole Wheat Flour for 7/8 cup Flour

What should I do if I receive defective product?
While we continuously strive to implement all safety precautions, it is possible for products to occasionally become damaged in transit. If you are not satisfied with your product or you have received damaged products please contact us right away. Please be sure to include the item’s coding on the top of the can or jar when writing or have it with you when you call.

Quality & Shelf Life
Is my product still good?
If your product does not have a “best-by” date printed on it, chances are that it is no longer good. All product produced after 2014 now has a best-by date stamped on it.
If it was produced before 2014 it is labeled using a 14-digit number code like this one: 0815-00102-08175
The last series of 5 digits represents the year and day of the year the product was produced. The first 2 digits (08) represent the year and the last three (175) represent the day of the year on the Julian Dating system. The code above tells us that this product was produced on June 23rd, 2008.
All retail products, except for Almond Paste, have an expected shelf life of 24 months when kept in acceptable storage conditions. The expected shelf-life for Almond Paste is 18 months in acceptable storage conditions.

You can purchase our products at grocery stores across the United States. The Solo and Baker brands are most often found in the baking aisle. Why can't I find my favorite flavor of Cake & Pastry Filling or Pie Fillings?
You may have noticed over the years that some of your favorite flavors are no longer found on store shelves. Over time, we had to make the tough decisions to discontinue our line of Baker Natural Pie Fillings, select flavors of Solo Cake & Pastry Fillings and select flavors of Baker Cake & Pastry Fillings. Unfortunately, we do not plan to produce these items again.
