Bring water and sugar to a boil over medium heat. Stir until candied, (soft ball stage). Remove from heat and using a spoon, beat in the

and vanilla. When mixture begins to thicken, add chopped nuts and continue stirring until stiff. Drop on to a buttered platter using a teaspoon.
